Months of preparation has gone into the new book whilst I am out here in the Caribbean and writing is underway. It is the most ambitious story yet for Stone & McLeish and in order to help FBI Agent Michael Finch find his missing sister they have to be in two countries at the same time. 

Although it was my intention to have this story out earlier this year I was delayed for family reasons and was happy to help my Father through a particularly tough time between May and October 2012. This was far more important than the book but happily I can now say that he is in a strong and healthy position and a fighting fit 86 year old.

I am very excited about the story and feel it is a new development for Stone & McLeish, in books 1 and 2 they were dealing with unexpected personal  
problems (well Stone had to and McLeish helped in all the way) but now they are becoming servants for others. 

Well, back to writing, the sun is hot but there's a cool breeze on the veranda where I am sitting, an endless supply of coffee is at hand. Has anyone seen 'Death in Paradise' ? I too have a lizard that keeps me company and runs across my feet from time to time...also hummingbirds visit the christmas lights thinking they're flowers, must take them down.

THE SEVENTH ISLAND
In April and May I have had a great response to my debut book, after 6,000 or so free copies being downloaded sales have been way beyond my expectations.  
The book reached #7 in the Amazon Kindle BEST SELLERS - SUSPENSE THRILLER list and i can't tell you how exciting it was to be amongst the big boys like Lee Child and Harlan Coben and many more very established authors. Apart from 3 weird 1★ reviews, who all somehow used the word banal to describe my writing (can't tell you though how such a review hurts, especially as the book reflects my true experiences and you put your heart and soul into writing it over almost a year - perhaps there were too many big words and not enough pictures in the book for these three people, sorry, had to get that off my chest) I've had nothing but great reviews and so many kind comments from readers, now I consider to be my friends...so, I again want to thank all my twitter followers and all the people who are buying my thriller !!

DEAD MAN'S JUSTICE
Also in April and May I had a great response to the sequel to TSI and it reached #19 in the SUSPENSE THRILLER best seller list, and I have also had great reviews and kind comments about the story. DMJ was pure fiction and gave me a chance to take the characters out again for a spin as well as introduce new ones that may return in future books. (One definitely does, see below)
I became so engrossed with this book, enjoying the writing each day so much, sometimes I didn't want to stop, but it's important to keep the ideas and writing fresh and believable. When I am in the process of writing I become so absorbed I find that I cannot switch off, ideas and dialogue and scenes come into my head all day long and especially at night as I put my head on the pillow. 
I became so personally involved with part one, where the story from TSI concludes, and part 2 of the book, where the new darker theme intertwines and I hope gives the reader a lot of new stuff to deal with. there are 4 themes culminating at the end...no more detail now...read the book haha.

THE LIST
Now, book three in the Stone & McLeish thriller series..
Due to my father being ill (at present I am at 'home' in the Uk with my parents rather than at home with Carlene in Trinidad) I have had to defer starting 'The List' properly so I've been developing the plot and characters which I am almost happy with. As with the first two books, I kind of have the whole plot even down to the chapters & scenes mapped out with all the twists and turns and then whilst I am writing I will add and modify as i go along.

I am not going to rush this book (not that i rushed the first two) I mean I want to write as polished a thriller as I can, for several reasons, 1. I want to enjoy the writing, 2. I want also to seek representation with DMJ and i want TL to be a good follow up, and almost more importantly, 3. I want readers to be even happier with THE LIST and keep involved with Stone & McLeish, although book 4 may be about a new set of characters completley, even I don't know yet.
